In demonstrating commitment to transparency and engagement, the College Principal routinely conducts staff meetings as a platform for reviewing progress, sharing success stories, discussing future plans, and many more. On April 29, 2024, the College Principal, Prof. Stephen Maluka, hosted a meeting with all staff members at New Lecture Theatre C’. The meeting encompassed the introduction of newly employed staff, training sessions, discussion of matters arising from the previous meeting, and general matters.

Prof. Maluka commenced the meeting by introducing the new staff members and encouraging cooperation among all staff. He emphasized the importance of enhancing work performance at the College through diligence, discipline, and adherence to ethical standards. Furthermore, he urged academic staff to prioritize research and consultancy projects, assuring them of any necessary support.

The training sessions covered topics on sexual corruption, PSSSF services and HIV and non-communicable diseases. Addressing issues of sexual corruption and their repercussions, Ms. Sabina Isuya and Neema Kilongozi from PCCB-Temeke, emphasized the government's stance on combating sexual corruption. They shared experiences of staff who faced legal consequences for engaging in such misconduct, highlighting its potential for financial loss, damage to morale, and reputational harm.

PSSSF representative, Mr. Salum Salum emphasized the role of the transition from paper-based to online services, allowing clients to access services remotely. He encouraged all staff to register on the PSSSF portal to avail themselves of various services, highlighting the availability of assistance whenever needed.

 On the other hand, Dr. Saning’o Sangeti addressed HIV and non-communicable diseases, stressing the importance of regular check-ups, healthy lifestyles, physical exercise, and abstinence from alcohol and smoking to prevent such illnesses.

Correspondingly, Prof. Method Samwel, the Deputy Principal for Planning, Finance, and Administration, presented matters arising from the previous meeting. These included improvements in the nomination process for Best Workers of the Year, updating to the funeral policy, and initiatives to support underprivileged students, including those affected by HIV.

The meeting fostered collaboration, allowing staff to pose questions and seek clarifications on various topics, including infrastructure rehabilitation, PEPMIS progress and its challenges, enhancements of services at Changómbe Demonstration Schools, and health insurance. All queries were addressed, with further action plans formulated where necessary.
